MemberX members and signups
Overview
MemberX → Members is your member list. A member's Mobile number is how the AI recognises them when they text the club, and Receives SMS blasts decides whether they get your text blasts. Members can also apply through a signup form on your website; applications arrive as Pending until you approve them.
Steps
Add or edit a member
- Go to MemberX → Members and click Add member, or Edit on a row.
- Fill in First name, Last name and Email (required), and the Mobile number in international format, for example
+14165550123. Ten-digit North American numbers are converted automatically. - Set Status. Only Active members are recognised on SMS and receive blasts.
- Tick Receives SMS blasts if they agreed to receive texts, and pick their Interest groups.
- Click Save.
Import members from a spreadsheet
- Save your spreadsheet as CSV with a header row. Columns:
email(required),firstname,lastname,phonenumber,profession,linkedinprofile,role,status,optinsms(yes/no),groups(separated by;). - Click Import CSV and choose the file.
- Rows are matched by email: existing members are updated, new ones are added. Skipped rows are listed with the reason.
Approve signups
- Filter by Pending to see new applications.
- Click Approve to make the applicant an active member, or Edit to review details first.
Put the signup form on your website
- Go to MemberX → MemberX settings → Signup form.
- Choose the optional fields (Mobile number, Profession, LinkedIn profile) and the Interest groups offered.
- Click Save settings, then copy the Embed code into your website where the form should appear.
- To be emailed about new applications, add addresses under Staff notifications → Email on new signups.
The form picks up your settings each time it loads, so you never need to change the embed code.
Tips
- Interest groups are set in MemberX settings → Interest groups, one per line. They are used to target SMS blasts.
- Deleting a member also removes their RSVPs.
- The signup form has built-in spam protection and rejects duplicate email addresses.
