MemberX events and RSVPs

Overview

Events in MemberX → Events are what the AI lists when members ask what's on. Members RSVP by text ("Put me down for the wine tasting, 2 of us"); the AI checks capacity and confirms. You can also add or cancel RSVPs yourself. Events can be imported automatically from your website, and short club facts live in Club information.

Steps

Create or edit an event

1. Go to MemberX → Events and click New event, or click an event in the list.
2. Enter the Title and Starts time (in your club time zone), plus any of Location, Category, Dress code, Price, Capacity and Description.
3. Capacity counts people, including guests. When it's reached the AI tells members the event is full.
4. Click Save event.

To cancel an event, tick Cancelled. It disappears from the AI's list and RSVPs close. Delete removes the event and its RSVPs.

Manage RSVPs

1. Open the event. The RSVPs section lists who is coming and how many.
2. To add one, choose the Member, set Attending, and click Add RSVP.
3. Click Cancel next to an RSVP to cancel it.

To be emailed whenever an RSVP is created, changed or cancelled, add addresses in MemberX → MemberX settings → Email on RSVP changes.

Import events from your website

1. In MemberX → Events, click Event sources, then Add source.
2. Enter a Name and the URL of your events page or its calendar feed (.ics). Common calendar plugins, event markup and linked calendar feeds are detected automatically.
3. Set Import every (hours) and click Save. Click Import now to run it straight away.

Imported events are matched by title and day, so re-imports update them instead of creating duplicates. Your own edits to capacity, dress code and category are kept.

Add club information

1. Go to MemberX → Club information and click Add entry.
2. Enter a Category, Title and Content (for example "Parking" or "Dining room hours").
3. Click Save. The AI looks these up when members ask.

Tips

• If an import shows Error, the message under the status explains why (for example the page couldn't be reached).
• If your events page isn't detected, enter an Event container selector (XPath) that matches one event on the page.
• Members can ask "what have I RSVP'd to?" or "cancel my RSVP for Friday" by text.
